1. Babysitter turns out to be an angel in disguise
How far would you go to save the life of someone you barely know? Would you donate an organ to someone in desperate need when you hardly know them for a few weeks? That’s what Kiersten Miles did for the toddler that she babysits. Only a few weeks after Kiersten started babysitting Talia, she got to know the baby needed a liver transplant. She volunteered to donate without a second thought, and after several tests, it was determined that she was a suitable donor. In January of 2017, the transplantation was successful, and both the girls went on to make a full recovery. Talia’s parents believe Kiersten was placed in their lives at the perfect time.
2. A hefty tip to thank the servers
The covid 19 pandemic and the lockdowns have been hard on everyone, particularly those who work in the service sector struggling to make ends meet. Good Samaritans have been stepping up to help hold the rest of the community together as they go through tough times. As the owner of a restaurant in Ocean Grove, New Jersey, found out, some of her patrons have a heart of gold. A family who dined at the restaurant left a tip of $1000 on their $43 bill that brought their waiters to tears. The tip was also accompanied by a warm note thanking the staff for their hard work during the difficult times.
3. A wedding that went better than anticipated
While the covid lockdowns made survival hard for some, many had their plans thwarted- hundreds of weddings had to be postponed, cancelled or downsized to meet the social distancing norms. Such was the case of Anastasija and Josh Davis of British Columbia, Canada, who had to downsize their wedding from 135 guests to less than 50 people. Being forced to re-plan their event, they decided to get married in their parent’s living room with only the immediate family of the bride and groom. When they took a limo to their photoshoot destination, they had a surprise waiting for them. Their friends and neighbours lined the streets in their cars, honking to congratulate them with balloons, signs and streamers.
4. Woman pays for a baby’s ticket
An unsuspecting father who was supposed to board a flight had a nasty surprise when entry to his 2-year old daughter was denied. The father, who mistakenly thought that babies could travel free of cost, hadn’t bought the ticket in advance and was not in a position to buy it on the spot. A woman present at the scene came to the rescue of the visibly distraught father by paying for the baby’s $749 ticket in full. She chose to remain anonymous despite the father asking for her details to repay her. The only record anyone has of the woman is a photo of the incident viral on social media.
