The organization which operates with the motto of “helping others in need to help themselves” focuses on the betterment of the quality of life for children, women and youth from backwards communities. Shobha Rani the founder of Spandana Society, along with her husband spent their savings for the organization but the tough times over the last two years made them reach out to the generosity of people. Through Donatekart they have been able to raise 16 lakhs worth essentials such as groceries, stationeries and other essentials from over 1400 donors.
3. Campaign to Feed the Poor by Yashoda Mataji
Yashoda Gopi who was born as Jennifer Hans is originally from Hawaii. Ever since she moved to India two years ago her mission has been to serve the poor and needy. A follower of the Hare Krishna Movement, Yashoda has been feeding lunch to over 100 children in Vrindavan and also takes care of cows in her gaushala. Her campaign has received around 21 lakhs worth of grocery, fruit and vegetable kits from over 2000 donors.
4. Matrudevobhava Anadha Ashramam: Taking care of the mentally ill homeless people. Gattu Giri who has personally witnessed the stigma around mental disorders has dedicated his life to looking after mentally ill people . who are lost or were abandoned by their families. Since the ashram was established in 2017, the team has been looking after over 100 abandoned persons and have been able to rehabilitate 250 individuals. The support for the cause had more than 2500 donors who donated around 19 lakhs worth of groceries, medicines and vehicles for the ashramam.
5. Mark D’Souza delivering nutritious meals to the senior citizens
Mark D’Souza, a resident of Borivali made it his life’s mission to ensure the senior citizens who are alone have access to healthy food. For the last 9 years, he has been delivering food dabbas to many free of cost. The 63-year old continues to care for many working tirelessly every day. With over 9832 generous donors on Donatekart, he has been able to continue his social service and raise over 1 crore worth of groceries.
