True love isn’t young Bollywood romance, it is stories like these
Rangamma and Nagendra got married when they were really young. Those were the days when you saw the person you’re getting married to on the wedding day! Nagendra and his young bride moved to Bangalore in search of a better life. Nagendra got a job in a mill, Rangamma couldn’t work because of her disability, she couldn’t walk.
Despite all their difficulties, both of them tried to provide a happy home for their three kids — two daughters and a son. They toiled very hard to provide for their children. Their eldest daughter never really understood the struggles of her parents, she stopped keeping in touch after she got married. The younger daughter had a big family of her own and was bogged down by too many responsibilities to look after her parents. Their son couldn’t get a job and was really depressed. Tragically, he took his own life. This was the hardest blow for the couple in all these years.
Their younger daughter brought her old parents to Om Ashram. For a long time, the couple grieved for their lost son. Things were slowly getting back to normal. They were laughing together, interacting with other old folks in the ashram. Sadly, Rangamma’s health started deteriorating. Nagendra was always by her side, making sure she had all her needs met. Rangamma passed away last year. Needless to say that Nagendra was heartbroken at the time but today he says he’s happy that Rangamma had a home and was comfortable in her last days.
Now this gentleman is all alone, he has seen too much suffering in his life. You have a chance to lessen his pain. There are many elderly people like him in Om Ashram. All they’re asking from you is to donate a few food supplies. Celebrate Valentine’s Day a little differently this year. Send a gift to someone who’s lost a loved one.
